Pasta Peas Ham and Cream

Cut out of an old magazine or something, my family has been making this dish for years. We’ve adapted it over time, but the original recipe by Marcella Hazan should take the credit for this dish.

2 LB Shell Pasta
1 TBS Unsalted Butter
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
1 LB Chopped Ham (can use sandwich meat, cut into strips or cubes)
1 10 oz Package Frozen Peas
1 1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Butter (milk and butter together make 2 cups heavy cream)
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp Pepper
1/3 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

1. Cook your pasta according to package directions and drain. Set aside.

2. Add 1 TSP butter to skillet and add onion. Cook until softened. Add the ham and cook for 2-3 minutes.

3. Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper, and cook until the sauce thickens. Stir often!

4.Add your pasta back to the sauce, and when serving top with your parmesan.

5. Enjoy!
